We spend some more time this week with the book, Do One Green Thing. There's a whole section in the book on prepared foods, packaged foods, and the engmatic labelling used thereto. I think I finally understand it... maybe. And if I don't, it's ok. I have *my* copy of the book... do you have yours?

On to the first section I'd like to talk about with the book, Do One Green Thing. We've talked about using water bottles in the past, yet reading Mindy Pennybacker's book showed me a couple of salient points I've missed in my reading. Do you want to know what those points are? Why not listen in... I'm enjoying this book so far. Enough to highlight parts of them and share them with you guys.

It's time to start the review of the book, Do One Green Thing. Tonight I'm gonna give you some background about why we're going to trust this particular author... and what I'm hoping to achieve with this long book report. I'm also going to give you guys a new way to let me know what you're thinking. Shout out to Kreg Steppe and Chuck Tomasi of Technorama for the idea...

Well, this week, I've spent some time in the place where I learn some new stuff, the book store. I bought myself a copy of a Do One Green Thing by Mindy Pennybacker I'll use for the next few weeks. If you've got a favourite book, website, conference, or other source of info, let me know. As always, I'll freely admit that I don't know everything.

Whippany river watershed marsh flood recovery 02
Care for PodCast
bpende
I pass this marsh every day I go to the office. Most days, it's just a wide swatch of marsh grass and birds and plastic bags and coffee cups.

The recent rainstorms have caused flooding in parts of New Jersey, and marshes like this one have rescued other sections of the state by doing what they're supposed to... being a big sponge to hold water overflows.

When I drove by the marsh the day I took this photo, I hit what I consider a sweet spot. The clouds were puffy, the light was coming in from the west and reflecting off the water, the flood water was covering almost all, but not all of the marsh grass... it was such a perfect representation of both what marshes do, and such an amazing combination of colours.

I shot this one with my new iPhone, and didn't do any post-processing on it.

Whole Lot of Nonsense - Show 127 - Where do I go to learn about all this living the change?

Good grief there's a lot of stuff to know in this whole world of living the change. I read a lot, I follow a lot of news, I try and learn as much as I can... check out the show notes for some of the places on the web or my iPhone where *I* go to do my learning. Why don't you share some of the places *you* go to keep up with all of your information.

And yes, I know I say "126"... but I meant "127"...

Whole Lot of Nonsense - Show 126 - Overcoming a lack of information about taxation
Care for PodCast

Sure, nobody likes taxation, but the way things are now, most people have to file them. If you know somebody who has to file, and can't afford to, I found a way we can give them some help. Listen in to learn about how you can help the people you know about, and even some people who you *don't* know about.
